Question homemade bonsai pots

hi all

im planning on making some homemade bonsai pots and saw a thread that some one posted not long back. my problem is that i cannot find this thread again does anyone have any idea where its gone.

it involved the pots being fired in a kiln that was just a hole dug in the ground
which had a little fire and lots off coals in tha bottom and covered with a lid than burried again. the pots were sat inside on a barbeque rack or something.

i only want to know how long to leave them in it.

Good luck.

Remember that pit firing is a low fire technique, not frost or waterproof. You may not be happy with them as bonsai pottey. But it is a fun diversion, let us know how you did.

thanx for the replies that site was very helpfull .the thread there on how the pit fire was made was really usefull because it was step by step pictures. gonna go by my clay today and try my hand at it for the first time
