Andy, I'm curious-when doing drum pots, how are the little dots done? I tried doing them with same sized balls of clay and they looked just like little balls of clay smooshed on the pot . Do you use a mold and then apply the dots once they've dried out a bit? If it's a potter's secret I'll understand .

BTW these pots look nice

Dear Andy

it's allright , it was nice to see you were suddenly there !
We speak soon !

Drumpots are not so inspiring to me , i have been playing with
forms and dots , just on paper , made me dozy , never made the pots .

Seeing Yours , yes , they look good !!
And Yes the slabs are also good , are they from the roller ?
The first and last drumpot are my favorit.
The little circle around the dot is sweet !
Kind regards

Hi Andy,
I like that first drum real well.
Let us know if you have any "sticking" problems after drying and fireing.

A LOT of drums I see from China have spots where some rivets ....fell off!

I love making drum pots, except the part that takes so long if lots of rivets.
BTW, I'm working on a new type of rivet here. It'll be a while, I'm in one of those "crunches". A show this weekend, one in sept. and one in Oct. It's REALLY tough to get built backup w/ two weeks between shows, even if you have a month!!

Dale

P.S. BTW, that looks like a pretty darn secure basement (?) window in the back!!

Hi Dale

Hope your well. Thanks for the comments on the pots. As of yet I have not had problems with the studs falling off.
It will be good to see your new style rivet I am intreaged.

My workshop is pretty secure, it is a out house in the garden. I is not that big I have another place for my kiln and wheel.

God to hear from you

Take care

Andy
