Custom Pots.... know of any websites?
Anyone out there know of a few good custom pot makers?

It would be great if we could just go down to the local potter and order a custom pot! They just don't know what were doing. We dont want round, we dont dont necessarly want glazed, and we dont want rough surface. It is difficult if you need or want a domestic pot. What exactly are you looking for? It may help "chatters" here to help you better.

To tell you the truth there is nothing in specific that I am looking for. Every once in a while I come across a pot that looks nice and I can tell it wasn't mass produced.
I'm really just looking for those one of a kind signature pieces that were not stamped out of a mold. Or if there is a mold the color/finish is unique and/or different then its brothers. |

In your haste to find a new pot you may have missed the links feature of the forum. At the top of the page you will find a list of destinations. Click on "switch to links". Go to the pot page, you will find it there as a sub catagory in "shopping". There are a lot of potters listed there as well as places to buy fine commercial made pots as well.
You should be looking for: Dale Cochoy Jim Barrett Sara Rayner Michael Hagedorn Luis Fontanes Jim Gremmel

My two cents, I have personally seen the work of Sara, Dale and Michael... they are all WONDERFUL and very much worth your inspection. Although their pots are works of art into there own they are perfect if chosen for a tree in mind. These individuals will take orders for special work.
For a potter in Europe go to the site of Horst http://www.go.to/heinzlreiter-bonsai/ the site is in german but on the left there is a button that says "Bonsai-Galerie"click it, then click the British flag that will lead to an English version of the site... worth your time to look around! I purchased a pot from Dale at a recent show and am very pleased with it! It was a second and more in my price range at this time! For total beauty (at a price) for that real special tree Sara's work is amazing! I stood and looked at her stand at the show as long as I looked at the trees on display! Yes, her prices are higher.... but the work involved is extreme!

I agree with you. I think Horst is the hardest working potter in the world. Have you seen the amount of different shapes he stocks ? Incredible
