Hi, I have been looking around for some time now for a cheap basic yellow/tan, oval, glazed 16" pot. I have been scanning ebay and the like to no end. I cant afford one of the nice hand made show pots, I see at the shows. I realy dont like plastic. I havent tried one of those mica pots because I havent seen them in real use. So I have some doubts about them.
Can anybody recomend a cheap pot shop? Thanks ![]() |

These guys seem to have a good selection of affordable pots. You can even request a catalog to be sent in the mail.

http://www.dallasbonsai.com/store/oval_singles.html You may find something suitable here. Of course the words cheap and 16 inch are not synonymous when it comes to glazed pottery.

I'm unable to buy many nice pots. Unable to buy any, depending on your definition of nice pots.
So I check out second-hand stores like DAV, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. And I can put drainage holes in a pot with a drillpress and masonary bit.

I use clay bulb pots. They are fairly cheap and tend not to be too deep, good for training. You can even get plastic and they are even more economical.

Be sure to check out the Mica pots on their web site ;o) Seriously I have used and sold Mica for about 15 years. The trees will not know the difference between these and a Tokonome pot. |
