Bought a kiln

Thanks everyone for the information on kilns, especially Joanie!

I went to the local ceramics store on Saturday to ask a few final questions, and found that they had all kilns on sale for March, 20% off list (their usual price is 10% off list).

I bought a Skutt KM1218-3, with upgraded thermocouple, upgraded elements, vent, electronic controller and furniture kit. They don't have the production date yet, but said it would generally be 7-10 days.

I need to get busy throwing, so that I'll have something to fire!

Sure, Jason, I'll put your name down

What do you consider "big"?

WOW! Talk about a Success!!
Made one pot ( is it fired yet?),
And taking orders already

That kiln, furniture, vent, wheel, etc. ought to be paid off in no time!

LOL!

I'm not quite ready to quite my day job

And given the size of trees that Jason has posted pictures of, I'm guessing his idea of a big pot is way beyond my ability to throw right now. I'm guessing the most clay I've centered so far would be 3-4 lbs.

Good think bonsai teaches patience!
