Best places to buy pots?

Where are some good places to buy pots? I'm looking for something from the tokoname area and some that are made by American potters also. DallasBonsai has maybe the best selection (combined with price) out of the ones in my bookmarks, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something or someone.

I second Bonsaimonk.com as a great source for high quality imported pots. If for some reason they do not have what you are looking for listed online contact Karen at the email provided on the site. She orders from Japan twice a year so if you time it right you can have your pot(s) fairly quickly.

If you are interested in tokoname pots do yourself a favor and purchase a catalog. I believe the current catalog is the "Y" catalog from 2006. The catalog is stunning with over 100 pages but can be a bit overwhelming. Here is a link to an online version of the catalog but it does take a bit of time to load pages. I believe somewhere on the site there is a list of pots no longer available.

Remember the dollar is very weak overseas and the pots are sold using the yen so you may experience some sticker shock!

I would suggest that you buy or at least shop from any vendor/maker of pots that participates on this site or any other bonsai related forum. Be it Dale, Morea, Bunjinent, Whistling Fish, Stone Monkey or myself to name a few. Someone will have what your looking for or can make it.

Thanks, I don't think I'm really looking for anything really specific as much as I know what I want when I see it. I do like to have some background on the pot though, and that's why I do not want to just buy from any pot vendor.

I was recently on the net looking for pots.
I am after one specificly like this for this tree.
I was thinking the way our aussie dollar is at the moment USA would be an option
After a search I could not find any similar. I will search through thye links provided but I thought it would be worth asking who makes this style of pot that would be prepared to ship to Australia.
I am also in the market for a medium size oval like the second pic But i may find that just as good local maybe.

G'day Subnet...

Look at Sara Rayner: http://www.redwing.net/~daalms/oval.html and
Dale Cochoy: http://pages.prodigy.net/dalecochoy/.

Search for Jim Barrett, Jim Gremmel, Ron Lang, Nick Lenz, Dave Lowman,
Dick Ryerson, Robert Wallace, Tom…ShadySideBonsai...and there's many more.
