Yamadori Ponderosa's

Here are 2 Yamadori Ponderosa's that I aquired about 3 months ago.

The smaller one has about a 4 inch trunk and is about 24 inches tall. It was collected about 2 years ago and has a ton of new roots coming out the bottom of the pot. I am attending a Boon workshop next week and plan to take this one to get worked on.

The larger one has about a 10 inch trunk and is about 36 inches tall. This tree was collected in June of this year so it has a few years to go before I do anything to it.

Walter Pall gave me a virtual of each that I will post soon.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Jason

Great trees. I look forward to seeing the virtuals!

I am very new to bonsai, but in both of these trees the style seems quite obvious. I will love to see what Walter (an absolute master) thinks and proposes for the design. I will compare this to my first impression and see if I can't learn something!

Thanks for sharing,

Matt

Jason, both are very fine peices of material. Did you collect these yourself? Definitely want to see the one you take to the Boon workshop afterwards. Also want to see those virtuals.

Best of luck to you, I and everyone else here are most envious of you!

Big Smile

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I appreciate it.

Here are the virtuals that Walter did for me. They are pretty nice and definantly something to shoot for.

Both of these trees have no training other than what mother nature has done. These were collected by a friend of mine that has an amazing stock of yamadori. These 2 were the lower level of what he collects, 75% of what he collects makes these 2 look like average trees. To me they are awesome and I am pleased to own them!!

Thanks again, Jason
