The story is I started it from seed about 20 years ago in the San Francisco bay area.When I move to the valley I dug it up and moved it with me. The wistertia was planted in the ground for 10 years .It has been in a bonsai pot for about 2 years.This plant has flowered from an early age. it was meant to be a bonsai from the seed stage.
