Gabriel,

Your tree looks really, really good. Bravo!

The only thing I'd probably do is to clean up the apex a little bit.

As an aside, I've always had bad results from that green grafting paste shown in a tube by the tree. The tree is unable to push it away from the wound to form the callous, and as a result you get poor healing.

Best wishes,
Carl

I like the tree and agree with the bobsaiist aka OMC's recommendation about the apex. Also, is there a way to hide the upward exit from the trunk of the lower right branch? I think it may be distracting. On closer observation, I note that several of the branches leave the trunk growing upward, this makes the look young and or artificial. Perhaps they can be lowered by notching appropriately, wiring and bending. I believe there was a recent thread about notching approriately.

I believe I'm talking about upgrading the quality of an already nice tree. So, understand I'm on your side here -- making the tree better.

Hi Gabriel .. Good work on your make-over for this ellwoody.
I did some virtuals attempting to find a bit more balance in its
upward flow. At first it was the second right branch which is a near bar branch with the second branch on the left. After eliminating this second right branch I then felt to empty with it gone. So it was back to the drawing board. Looking closer I then realized the first right branch is longer then the first branch on the left. I shortened the first and second right branches and the second left branch a tad. I thinned a lil in the apex.
At this point I saw that now it needs to be moved to the right in its pot. So ... what ya think? Here's a final pic.
This is a good tree I've enjoyed playing with it.
Thanks for posting it .
