where do i start
got this bougainvillea from nursury.cut a few branches to see more of the trunk.thats all ive done,thinking of removing most of the top of the trunk with rotary electrical brushers and cutters and go with a broom style...were do i start?

Hey Steven.. I gotta agree with KingKong on this one. But maybe you need some reason.. At the top of the tree is a huge reverse taper. Which without cutting it right of you aint gonna rectify. So.... Chop it. Then find a new leader and give the tree a little Direction. Also. I have put my bougies into some big growing pots. With the Durban Climate as I am sure you know these trees will Flourish.

Hi Steven,
I suggest you cut off the top part and put it in coare sands mix with peatmoss, water it every day and in about 3 weeks it will root and back buds. I got my bougie stump without any root attached but I used the said method to propagate it and now it grows many new branches. Good luck. |
