Re: what do yu think of this?
It's pretty thin and simple, not much foliage and you might want to get rid of that bottom right branch because it's a bit low and bare and thin. Also, round off the top left side of the tree (it looks a bit flat).
Hey, you wanted my thought on it so I gave it to you. I don't suggest you do what I said to do right away. It's really not that bad though. With a bit of fixing up it could be pretty good. ![]() |

Re: what do yu think of this?
I guess I don't understand the advice to get rid of the lowest branch. Take a look at any number of specimen bonsai, and see where the lowest branches lie. Unless they are in the literati style, you'll find the branches starting at (roughly) 1/3 the height of the tree, give or take 1/6. As for thin, branches grow. If you get rid of it, you'll need to grow another there from scratch.
Am I missing something? Cheers, Old Mister

Re: what do yu think of this?
I'm with Ol' Mister here. I think you shouldn't get rid of the bottom branch, because you'll probably need it in the future. What style have you thought for this tree? If it's the broom style you're thinking of, you may cut it off, but I wouldn't.
If you look at a broom-ish tree in the nature, you'll notice that it has branches coming out from different parts of the trunk. So, I'd try to grow that branch to form a part of the foliage - a bit like in the crude drawing. Zeb ![]()
