Two Years Progress on a Wild Plum

I air-layered this Prunus cerasifera from a tree down by the Sacramento River in July 1996. Beginning with a 1 inch diameter trunk it has been in the ground, in a box, and for the last two years in the current pot. Boy, am I learning patience with my trees! Now it is 21 inches tall. The pot is large but I like the color. There are wounds and thickened areas that need more work, but now I have those pristine simple white flowers to make the wait easier. I like the flower buds - perfect little white balls.

Carmen,
You have one lovely Plum. I'm sure in person it is even better when in flower.

Excellent work! There I really like the styling, it will only get better with age.
