Two Texas Natives

Some of you have probably seen my collected Tx. Ashe Juniper on my website or in the museum gallery here at bonsaiTalk.
This is what the tree looked like before styling.

At the height of its glory with foliage that was hard to keep under control. One of my favorite junipers at the time until:
that's right, the "hail storm". Within two weeks time the entire crown was browned out, but had some branches with green tips.

The tree was left untouched until about six weeks ago when I trimmed all the dead stuff off and left only what I thought would continue to grow green. A new restyling job, and hopefully a new future

This is an Eastern Red Cedar given to me by the same person as the Ashe Juniper, shown before styling

As with the other, this one too seemed to get away from me with the foliage, and it too was browned out from the storm.

I kept just enough to start over, and hopefully not let it get away from me again.

What's that web address?

Nice work with these trees, too bad about the hail storm damaging these beauties, but looks like you are making the best out of what you were left with. The new deadwood gives the trees a nice little story too!
