Two Pinus parvifolia - Literati

G'day folks,

Here are two of my Pinus parvifolias, Literati style, after just being restyled, as both trees were/had been a tad neglected by the previous owner.

Particular characteristics:
This Japanese White Pne is the most commonly used pine for bonsai in Japan. It is an evergreen with very short stiff needles forming blue/green tufts of foliage at the branch tips, creating an overall fine texture to the trees silouette. The brownish red cones are one to four inches long. The needles grow in groups of five which is why it is known as "five-needle-pine". Hardy. Keep outdoors.

Genus: Pinaceae.
Common name: Japanese White Pine.

Pinus parvifolia (01)

Style: Literati [BUNJIN-GI].
Size: Height, 46.5cm [18 ¼“].

Container: Round, brown, unglazed, Japanese pot with "key" design on upper, outer rim.
Diameter, 22cm [8 ½“], height, 8cm [3 ¼“].

Pinus parvifolia (02)

Style: Literati [BUNJIN-GI].
Exposed-root [NE-AGARI].
Size: Height, 50cm [19 ¾“].

Container: Round, brown, unglazed, Chinese drum pot.
Width, 16cm [6 ¼“], height, 6cm [2 ¼“].

Hope ya likes....all constructive comments very welcome....ozzerbon

Great job on these, I really like them. Literati is my personal favorite style. Are there any more plans for these after this styling?

Nice trees. I like number one much better though. Has a much more pronounced literati feel. I think the canopy on no. Two along with the nebari which seems more rough ruins the image. Very nice trunks though. keep us posted with their dvelopment they can only get better.
