The Treebay Virtual Challange

I have posted this California juniper before back in Jan., 2002 when it was dug. The tree has responded well to the growing box and is pushing new growth at an alarming rate. I'm worried that it will expend all its energy now and fold up next month. Any way, I'm gettin itchy about how this tree might look for the future. I have some ideas floatin in my head, but would love to see some other input. So pick your favorite view and virtual away.

I will give you what I have up to this point, and you guys and gals can take it from there. How the tree looks complete:

Yea, I know there is a fence in the background, but I just got home from work and it was too hot to make a suitable backdrop. I'm not looking for anything pretty anyway, just ideas.

This is the view of the part of the tree that Ian from IBC used for his virtual last Jan.

I have included this view. I see the potential for a possible cascade it there somewhere.

This small bud popped right out of the side of that 6" trunk. Maybe I should just wait a few years and chop it down to here and have a Super Duper Sumo Shohin.

Al, you certainly are a Shohin lover... I would like to keep the tree the size it is, it's really nice (for me), but, if you like shohin's then...

I think Ian is right on the money.

I don't see the cascade, but maybe you have a better idea what's going on in the hidden roots.

Regards,

Matt
