Too Late?

I just moved from a house to an apartment...and I have a 7 gallon trident that I want to layer off some before I chop it totally, my problem is that its really too tall and big for my patio (which is covered). So I am thinking that I may take some cuttings from it and go ahead and chop it back now. I just moved to SC. Any advice? Oh yeah for my cuttings would it be okay to plant them in a mix of turface and peat? Thank you
-Richard

*edit I am sorry I ment to post this in the general forum, I just realized I was in the show and tell*

Richard
You might be pushing it a bit but given this years weather in SC I think you will be ok.
I just topped a bunch of them out and I am not real worried about it. But then I live in SC also and you know what they say about us hillbillies ;o)

Thanks for the quick reply Ron. I just moved up here this past weekend. I went from north west fl to the northern part of South Carolina.
Do you think it would be better If I just took enough off the top and sides to fit in the area, for right now and wait till next year to do my chop?

Cool
Only about 2.5 hours away. Just next door ;o)
Go ahead and chop that trident. I would be surprised if you had any problems.

5 times around a 1/2 hour circle -- I'm sorry, that's not SC, that's NJ.
