Thuja Occidentalis - Eastern Cedar
Although the variety of material here is almost excessive, conifers are not indigenous to southern Africa. As a result we do not have access to the quality of material that is available in the northern hemisphere. However because it is such a pleasure to work on conifers I have some in my collection. In spite of the obvious shortcomings of this thuja I enjoy it very much.

Hank,
I must congratulate you with this thuja. I have tried thuja's and lawson's cypresses but gave up because of the difficult foliage. You have achieved ramification on this tree that I thought was not possible on such species. OK, maybe the trunk is not huge and impressive, but I find this tree to be very elegant. I like it ! regards, René |
