Styling Ideas?
Well, after realizing that I require some ideas here I decided to post a pic. I beleive this is a juniper - its one of the christmas tree plants Target boutiquities is currently letting die.
Decided to take a shot at small sized Bonsai. I cant figure out how to define the top. Any Ideas would help as I am still trying creativity. Thanks again Tim ![]() |

From first look it seems very two dimensional which a problem with any tree. You need back branches to add depth to the tree.
I would let this recover and see what the folage does. You could also think about getting movement in the trunk as it is very straight and uninteresting at the moment. Eventually you also might want to lower the height of the tree when you get some more branches at the top half. Long term project. David |

I think you took too much off. There really isn't much you can do with it now but let it grow for awhile. I don't see anything to do with the top...it's too far from the lower branches.
I also don't want to be too negative but I picked up several of those last year and made some nice landscapes. Every one died on me. No apparent reason. I usually know I did something to kill them, but in this case I think they were never meant to live beyond Christmas. But they are cheap so why don't you buy a few more and practice on them? Try another one for us but leave more branches. Try a classic formal upright following the classical rules...you might have a winner. Good luck, Earl |

Thanks for all your input on this! I was a little over zealous with the pruning and now see the errors I have made. This is why it has left me in a quandry.
I will take advise an let it grow out some. Thanks much for all your help. This is the worst I have done, just not thinking I guess. |
