Springtime in hobbiton

Hi all,

I thought you all might like to see Bag End in the springtime

As predicted, Bilbo did put some flowers out in pots

I gather that he will leave off repointing the brickwork until next year, the builder he got in a while ago to renovate the frontage did a good job, apparently

(I've attached a photo from my winter visit to the "Bagginses" for comparison)

Regards,

Chris.

...and now would seem like a good time to say that I was thrilled and honoured to win the 2006 Articles contest

Thanks to all the people who voted for my entry, thanks to the organisers for putting it all together, thanks to the prize providers, thanks to Walsall Studio Ceramics for the fine base.

And, thanks to all the other contestants, the standard was very high all round.

I had a great time putting this article together. I had wanted to assemble a tolkien-inspired trayscape for ages, and I had a rather promising Tolkienesque tree just begging to be used. So when the articles competition was announced, I decided to see what I could do. I'm very pleased it has been a success.

Regards,

Chris.

That's pretty nice Chris!
A couple hundred more and you'll have the whole Shire.

Fantastic Chris. I do hope you consider submitting your article to some Bonsai magazines as this is an extremely interesting article and worthy of publishing.

Gday TreeBeard, and congratulations!

A worthy winner Artcle Contest winner, and a great trayscape to boot. I look forward to seeing what decisions Mr Baggins makes for the future of his new garden. I might even go out and buy a copy of Bonsai Today once your article is published!

Thanks!

Fly.

PS: Happy Birthday!!!

PPS: I can't wait to see Bilbo's place on your eleventy-first Birthday!
