Spirea X Bumalda "Goldflame"

Here is a Summer Flower shot of my Goldflame. This is its second growing season in this pot. The lower branch had died back....dunno why yet.

The flowers are a stunning contrast to the bronze foliage. In the fall the foliage is supposed to turn a coppery color. I had hoped to photo it in its fall color, but the weather here skipped fall. We went from a nice balmy sept to a crispy bitter cold october. No chance for this one to turn.

Anyone have a spirea?

Paul

Paul,

I agree with the geezerman, good trunkline, good flowers.

It may not be a 'classic' style, but... still looks good.

Regards,

TB

I am glad you like it. I enjoy it as well. And I agree, so what if it isnt the classics. My point exactly.

Great spiraea! I got one in the summer and most of the stock there didn't have great developed trunks like yours! I haven't touched mine yet, it is in the growing box, I'm waiting for some of the branches to thicken.

I'm going for a roots-over-rock style.

Again, great stuff

Paul,
Lovely little tree! I really like the trunk.
Who cares if it's classic or not if it looks so good anyway?

Zeb
