Pot is Japanese Hatory, the tree also is Japanese import

missed this one, great starting material for a mature looking bonsai. My assumption is that you will bring it back down towards the base and then build ramification? Great little tree. John

This one has a lot of character. I agree with John though. It looks like you need to cut back and start building your branching now.

I have no idea how this tree grows naturally, but I like how it looks in that pot naked.

Great little tree. I know nothing about them other than I really like them. I have attached some photos of one that was sold on Yahoo Japan auction site a while ago for inspiration, hope it helps.
