Very Nice. I love Lodgepoles. i have a couple myself. Here in the Colorado Rockies they tend to have a very straight trunk, at least the majority of the ones I've seen.

What a range this species of pine has got! I have collected some of these myself and they live up to their name (contorta) in this area. I really like what you did with the first one; the second one is a good solution too. Good to see what others are doing with this material in the southern hemisphere

FWIW the ones here have a great bark that is the perfect scale for bonsai.
