Slanted Shimpaku: Advice needed.

Hi all. Did some styling with this tree. Had some help too and really didn't like the outcome. Didn't leave me with much options, so I trimmed some more and came down to this.

Need advice on whether to keep the top branch and if I do, how I should go about styling it or lose the top branch, jin it and just leave the branch on the left side.

Help, opinions and critiques much appreciated.

Thank you.

Interesting start. I would suggest that you thin the foliage a bit and use some very fine wire to define the foliage pads as "fans" to improve their structure. The hardest things for most of us is to learn to wire to the very end and do all of the foliage. John

This virtual is possible if you bring the foliage pads in closer to the trunk. Of course this virtual is much more "clipped and groomed" than I would like, I prefer a little more unkempt appearance but that was not possible with my soft ware. However once you get the branches to this point you need to thin out the growth and let the light show through so that is looks more like a tree than a clipped shrub. JMHO
