Should I Remove this limb?

I can't decide if I should remove lower left limb.
1st picture is how the tree looks now.
The 2nd picture I removed limb virtually.
Since this is only the second tree I've ever styled
(and the first I've tried to wire)
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I personally think it would look nicer if you took both of the bottom branches off (as in my virt). The bundles of foliage at the ends look strange on those long thin branches and i don't think it will back bud very well onto them. (no experience, just from what i've read over and over agen). Then i'd work on the canopy, maybe trim back the excess length and wire some bottom branches slightly downwards.

I would agree with Al. If this tree were in a grow-pot, or in the ground, you could leave the lower left branch on as a sacrifice branch to thicken the lower trunk. But in a bonsai pot it is not likely to do you much good.

Thanks.
I apreciate the advice.
I need to buy a good book for study.
Some information is just not available on the internet.
Or I just haven't found it yet.

Hi there, have you though about a bonsai club? If you are near Jericho VT our club meets at Millbrook Bonsai http://www.millbrookbonsai.com/
If you are interested contact me and I'll get you some info.

Patmac:

I concur with my esteemed comrades. If you go the route of Al's suggestion, I would say take it further and add a little downward curve to the branches on each side, and trim the canopy way back to enhance the strength of the trunk.

Like so ...
