Short and stout Grewia

This grewia was landscape grown for several years before I dug it up 10-15 years ago.

Today I repotted it into this signed Tokoname pot. Height from table is 11 inches.

This bonsai is named "Froggy".

The tree looks very strong. The tough roots and thick trunk give a good sence of power. The only thing I would do is extend the branches on the right making them come to more of a point rather than leave it blunt.

Nice Mike. Pot suits it too.

FWIW, I played around a bit with Photoshop to see what it would look like with a different canopy.

That's a very nice tree Mike! I like John Quinn's suggestion for it too. But it seems to be very slow growing if that's all you got from it after 10-15 years. You should have left it in the ground a little longer!

Gidday Mike,

Is your Grewia actually in full leaf right now, has it gone evergreen, just wondering, as mine [a recent gift] a neglected windswept, is still in it's winter skeletal stage.

And also, aren't the flowers apical, like, have you pruned your tree recently, at the cost of the loss of the coming season's flowers?
