Shore pine

I was in Brookings, OR this weekend and they were having the annual bonsai show of the Seacrest Bonsai Club. This is a wonderful club with spectacular trees. The club is for Brookings, OR and Cresent City, CA. The towns probably have a combined population of 10,000 people so it is amazing to have this kind of club. I entered the drawing for their door prize tree which I won! It cost me $10 for tickets. It is a spectacular Shore Pine (pinus contorta) and I couldn't believe my luck.
I also bought several small accent plants so will post this in the gallery show Wed when I have time to set up a decent display. Unfortunately, my car broke down so I couldn't bring all the stuff home but there was no way I was leaving the tree to languish in a car beside the road!!

Re: Shore pine

Earl,
That's the best twin-trunk I've ever seen. It's just so natural-looking. I wish there were shows here, too. Well, I would never win anything as beautiful as you did.
Gongratulations!

Zeb

Re: Shore pine

Earl,

Your new find reminds me a little of the Kusamura bonsai club's logo...
