Shohin J. procumbens

Last year I posted this tree, soliciting ideas for another pot choice...I finally chose the unglazed rectangle that is pictured. The tree is currently six inches in height.

Regards,
Tom

Hi, Chris: If you are referring to the color of the foliage, it is probably because the photo. was shot indoors under less than ideal lighting conditions. In addition I used an "autobalance" function in my software prior to saving the file which may have compounded the problem.

Regards,
Tom

I agree about the foliage in the first pic. Good choice of pots. Nice little tree.

I like the first foliage too, because it looks more natural. The second picture looks too trimmed somehow.

Beautiful little tree!

Thank you all for your comments and insights...Joanie: How right you are...my wife would agree with you regarding most of my trees - I suffer from OCD which is good and bad in bonsai - good in that constant pinching (which I am guilty of a lot!) is necessary with many spcies; bad, however, in that with some trees it results in too neat an appearance - almost articial...bonsai has enabled me over the years to get somewhat of a respite from my disorder - i.e. it gets me away from straightening papers on my desk, picture frames on the wall, etc. etc. I have killed a tree here and there because of my OCD; however, the ones that I have kept alive continue to improve, imho...sorry to ramble.

Regards,
Tom

Here is the tree once again after a little rewiring followed by an "about-face." I like this view a little better...

Tom
