Shimpaku Project

Lets have some fun. We have seen this shimpaku befor and now it is time to see if we can create something usful with it. I will post two pictures of the material front and back. The cost in the nursery is $49.00 so we should not wast any material. Here is the first picture.

Here is the second picture. What I would like is for you to stile this tree the way that you would want to see it. Every suggestion will be good for the project that we are working on.

The measurments on this material are 1 1/2 in. at the nebari,
13 inches tall and 18 inches wide at the top of the canopy. After you have suggested some ideas I will post the direction that I would like to take this material.

Back on the "choosing stock" thread from a few months back, I used this tree as an example of where I would go. I would use the crotch and prune everything else off. Then I would let her go, to see what develops for a season or two.

Could be a good shohin tree. Time will tell...

I'd probably go the slanting style route and let it grow for a couple of years and see what developed in the container it's in now.

those multitrunked Shimpaku are a B****.
