I went ahead and removed the foliage just to see what it would look like. I also added just a hint of green here and there just to make the canopy more evenand full.

Thanks Al,
I'll have to go out and check the possibilities on this. Even though it's a drastic reduction in size, it looks good. Thanks for taking the time to do this virtual.

Hi Thomas, great job. I really like what you've done.

I also really like Al's virt. I've taken the liberty of altering the tree planting angle on your virtual Al, clockwise a tad. I've also done the same to the pot, but independent to the tree. ie I didn't rotate them both as one unit. (The tree went over about 3 times what the pot did.)

Regards,

TB

(got home and didn't like my virt... picture gone)

Well I did a little branch bending and moving, and gave it a different pot with a little bit of different planting angle. I still haven't had time to do the jin work yet. It's pretty cold here in Tx. right now. I'll have to wait until I get more in the mood.

Man, what an improvement! This is really taking shape now. I love the tree trimmed back and "I" would trim it back just a tad more. This is a beautiful tree, and a great find. 65.00 bucks, right in the ball park, and a good price for wonderful stock. ]

Not exactly a comment on the tree, per se, but rather a comment on the photo.

I just love this shot! And it grows on me every time I see it. This is far from the classic tokonoma...but it works and it works so well. I think the amazing thing about the photograph is the harmony among the colors - the blue sky, the green of the foliage, the red-brown pot, the lighter fence, the grey-brown bark. The colors themselves have a sort of dynamicism to them - they draw the eye around in a circle.

It's almost a pop-art or comic-book look - there seem to be fewer shades than one would see in real life...incredible!

Best regards,
Carl
