Shcem Yama - Yamadori Wild Olive

One of my friends lives and owns a property on a mountain near Shceam (Nablus).
The other day he had seen some pictures in the galleries of this forum, and he had told me that on his property there are some wiled olive trees at least ten years old.
On his property he had a pear grove, about five years ago it had been burned out completely and now there is only wild trees and bushes.

Today I had visited him and I had found some treasures, this is the one I had chosen for now.

The mountain:

A suggestion: If you would like to increase the chances of survival of your olive it might be good idea to consider cutting it back by another 90% and defoiliating. Also, it is a good idea to keep the bark moist for the initial 6-8 weeks. Good luck. Hank

Carmi I had a similiar find a couple of months ago, the original tree being burnt out and replaced by new growth creating quite an interesting specimen, I estimate the tree to be about forty years old, the live wood corresponding with the date of the bushfire.
