This next photo shows the mass of suckers that will grow at the base of your serissa tree.

After removing all of the suckers you can see the roots and nebari. This is about 1 and 1/2 in. at the juncture of the first branch.

This photo shows the tree after it has been summer pruned. By fall it will have a complete new set of growth and have to be pruned again for winter.

This last photo is of the rooted suckers that I will save for replanting. A couple of years in the growing bed and they will be as large as the parent plant.

Rips,

You have a good material, with many possibilities. The nebari is very strong and must be show in detail, when you transplant the tree.
This species makes new roots easily specially if you use Tiamin (B1).
Go ahead a new pretty bonsai is coming.
