Serissa

I've had this serissa for about 7 months now. It never flowered....
any tips on how I could let it bloom? from what i understand it blooms year round, or does it bloom in the summer? I have been applying some fertilizer very weak strength.
Also what style suits it?

bass,
I am by no means an expert, or even close for that matter & I may be totally off but my understanding w/ serissas' in general is that if you give them light the buds will come. I currently have 2 of my own, 1 pink & 1 "thousand star" and they are both flowering like crazy & I mean non-stop. I keep all my tropicals under a 48" double bulb fixture w/40 watt gro bulbs from wal-mart & they are all thriving, I couldn't be happier. I wish I could post some pics but I'm not currently able to. As far as what style it looks like you could go with slanting, it's pretty much there or maybe work it into a semi-cascade. I love serissas' they are one of my favorites! Let me know how you end up, good luck.-sw

Your serissa looks healthy..they go through cylces blooming and growing. Informal upright works well for this species. Your tree is planted dead center in the pot. Moving it to the right will bring the composition into balance. Do you know the variety?

sw, What is your timing on the lights? I also love these plants.
They perform really well.

unfortunatly I don't know the variety nor i know what color the flowers. I got it from a stand in a festival during the summer. I liked the trunk, it was in a very small pot and the soil was bad. so I repotted it with bonsai soil in this beautiful pot. it's been growing fast i keep pinching it...
Can someone give me a virtual with an informal upright ?

BonsaiMon,
My lights come on at 7:30am and go off at 5:30pm.
Like I said I couldn't be happier, my serissas' have been blooming non-stop since June.

you're a lucky guy... I haven't seen mine bloom yet. Even though I haven't by the southern window where the sun hits 3 hours a day.

sw, being into tropicals people ask me how long to keep the lights on and not having grown trees indoors under lights I only have what others have told me..tanks.

Bass, growing indoors is rough without lights. A few hours next to a window is not alot of light. Your tree looks like a thousand star, its flowers are smaller then other varieties. A full strength
shot of a bloomin fertilizer may help but i feel light is lacking.
And a virtual for an informal upright view.
