Saved the best for last

This is my last post for a while. my typing finger is getting tired. This is my last big tree. It's a Itoigawa and I just can't bring myself to part with it just yet. It's not easy to find trees like this for me. If any of my Bonsai Talk friends past this way, please stop and I will offer you a adult beverage and we shoot the s@#t about Bonsai til we pass out. I'm in the phone book. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Harry

If I had a tree like that, I wouldn't part with it, either.

That's a great shimpaku Harry! Thanks for showing it. All the other smaller trees you've shown are pretty damm good too! Did Marco spent the whole week at your house for your trees only? That's got to be expensive!

Well, you said you wanted to change out your collection for smaller trees. That's understandable. Can't bear to part with this one yet. That's understandable, too.

Have you considered air layering this one? Right at the trouble spot where the left side and right side branches meet should give you two great trees, each within your size limit. Might take a couple of years for adequate roots to set, but hey, it's only time.

Awesome tree, by the way. We're all happy for you. And Marco looked pretty happy, too.

Sorry baldguy, I guess I don't know what trouble spot you're refering to, I wasn't aware it had a trouble spot.
