I like the texture of the bark (and I bet it smells good, too). However, I don't understand the lower branch on th left, I find it distracting. It doesn't seem to fit the flow of the tree and it is also a diagnol bar branch with the one on the right, leading the eye away from the tree. Snip.

Here is my little Rosemary in need of a haircut.

It was a rescue in the greenhouse at work because someone let it go dry.

I trimmed it up and will post a picture of it later today.
Its been in my care for two years. Its 7 inches tall.

Rosemary

Here is the same tree after pruning. Color is different because of lighting in greenhouse.

Dear Hector and Zenbonsai

This is so nice !!!

Is the Rosemary a fast grower in Your countrie Zenbonsai ?
Here is grows so slowly and i have to take care it do not
gets to wet , or in frost .
But it is such a lovely shrub (?) to grow for "bonsai"

Hector , did You do the cutting after flowering ?
Mine needs a nailcut , growing so much ,but is still flowering since Nov.
and i would like to repot her in a nice pot and do some
deadwood work on her .
Could You tell me when the best time is ?
She might flower all spring , she did past Year !
I'm lost here and insecure .
Kind regards
Morea

Morea, put it up against a brick wall where it gets lots of reflected heat in summer. It will also protect it from freezing in winter.

It'll want huge amounts of water for a plant that usually grows in more arid regions, but it will reward you with lots of growth and flowers. I also fertilize the heck out of my rosemary, almost pure bloodmeal in spring, huge amounts of nitrogen after it has stopped flowering and it starting to go into its vegetative phase. A handfull of bonemeal in fall, and a basic balanced organic (Ecostyle Rozenmest) the rest of the year.

Mine has been blooming steadily since November...
Bought it as a small pot three years ago with what looked like a bunch of barely rooted cuttings, by now it's grown to just over three feet tall.

I love brushing my hands over it, the smell is intense...
Hmm, a nice leg of lamb, lots of garlic and rosemary...

Stefan

some notes on Rosmarinus officinalis

it is best to prune you'r rosmari in spring or summer.
you can prune during the flowering stage.
be careful not to prune it to hard' it can result in a dead rosmari .
becareful when you root prune you'r rosmari it is very sensitive.

Here in Michigan my Rosemary only blooms in the summer. So I prooned it just this week, Feb. 24. I will start to fertilize now for blooms. I also give it a teaspoon of Epsom salts sprinkled on the soil so it gets watered in.
Epsom salts is Magnesium and has nothing to do with salt as someone once asked.
I keep my Rosemary wet at all times and in 6 hours of sun in the summer, in the greenhouse in winter.
