Rosemary

I've just bought this little rosemary with 7 trunks.
Any suggestions for the future?

Thanks,
Ossi Hanhinen

Re: Rosemary

I think you could make a small 'shohin' forest. Plant it in a shallow pot with lots of room off to one side? Just a thought.

Re: Rosemary

Bonsainut:
I will make some.

Sandi:
Yes, that was my idea in the garden shop. Maybe a little rock on the other side of the pot.
But, should I try to form a triangle of foliage? As you may see it already has a little of
that form.

Thank you,
Ossi Hanhinen

Re: Rosemary

Yeah, the rock sounds good. I think for now I would just pinch the ends a little and get rid of the 'perfect outline. Make it a little irregular, but in a triangle too. Good luck. Post a picture of whatever you decide to do.

Re: Rosemary

I think the 2nd left trunk would be ok to use for a slanting style.

Or, you could get rid of 2 or 3 other trunks and make a group planting. That could look pretty good.

Re: Rosemary

Sandi,

I've heard that rosemaries shouldn't be planted in shallow containers
It's a shame. But maybe I can "build" a landscape that is deep enough for a rosemary.
Like in this saikei http://www.bonsaienthusiast.com/saikei1.htm.

Re: Rosemary

Rowanis,

I couldn't throw so much of it away to leave just some trunks (1-3).
Maybe if I find two trunks that I can cut off and improve the overall picture...
