Root over rock ficus, should I trunk chop?

Hi, I have this root over rock Ficus that I've allowed to grow unchecked with the intention of cutting it back into a more compact shape, after doing some research I'm led to believe that this type of Ficus is not a good cabdidate for regrowth after trunk chop, I'm also a little dissapointed with the trunk girth compared to the root size, I've posted a couple of pics to show the plant as it is and how I would like to see it, do you think it would survive a trunk chop of this severity?

What type of Ficus is it? The only one that I can think that may not do well after a severe trunk chop might be the Benjamina. All others seem to do well.

I'm not sure of the species but I think it may be a Benjamina.
