Right pot for shohin JWp

How does this pot look on this tree? It is an Erin pot that is 8x2.75. I would prefer a tradional round tokoname pot but I am having trouble finding one. What stores would I be able to find some decent pots?

That is one beautiful little tree. I think a pot with steaper sides would look better with your JWP.

id say something more tradtiotional like the rectangular ones.

Wow! What a tree. It even looks good without any pot!

I like that pot and think it would go well with such a beautiful tree. No pot is permanent, so this one will do until the right one comes along, as the song says.

Brown, yes. However, a round pot is rather feminine for a masculine tree like a JWP. Your pot does have texture which adds a bit of masculinity to it. I agree with eeiko, more of a rectangle or maybe a square would be better. Save that pot for a great pine literati or a generally feminine tree styled in a more masculine way such as a deciduous in an oak style.

I think the pot is very beautiful. Oh, and the tree is nice too.

Nice tree Franco! However I gotta say that the proposed pot is wrong. For me a steep sided pot would give the feel of instability to such a bulky trunk. I do believe a more stout pot is in order something with perhaps a little movement in it. Be it reticulation on the rim, a slight flair on the side, or some movement such as a undulation on some trim piece near the feet. These slight subtleties would mirror the movement of the trunk while leaving intact the stability of the tree. Round is often difficult to pull off well with a tree like this, but not impossible.
