Rebirth Of A Trident

This is a trident i bought off an old lady whose husband died 5 years ago.because of 5 years without trimming it grew out of shape(very long)i was told that i could trim it and it would be a mediocore bonsai or i could do somthing that could in 4-5 years be a great bonsai??



So here it is after the chop!!!

After a year of leting it grow i needed some lower banches.So thead grafting was the easyest and fastest way

And here it is today 2 years later (after the chop)with the thread graft starting to grow..


Any one else had any success with thread graft??

Rob,
Very good nebari. I was there when it was first chopped back. Tree is looking very good. You have to trim the taller shoots all the time to force bud back now. Don't let it grow wild for another year. Well done.
