Rainy Day Project

Adam MA and I have both taken advantage of a great deal at home depot. (you can see adams project in the Easter Project thread) i, unlike adam, was not fortunate enough to find a single straight trunk, but rather a tree with three trunks. i have spent the last hour or so pruning away to open up and show the trunks and am now going to begin to shape the tree and finish its initial design. i will then give it a rest before any root pruning or potting will be done. here is what i started with:

Chris,
Looks like you got yourself a good tree to work with. The extra trunks will make for an interesting challenge. Can't wait to see how you finish this baby!

Good luck
Adam

ya, the moving truck backed over it when i was moving last spring, that should about cover it. it was cut back quite a bit in hopes of creating a certain look, but in my haste, i cut off a lot of what i should have left and forgot about it (at least until it had something more to work with). never took any more pics, the thing was hideous.

Spoken like a true bonsaiist.

We all have hideous trees, or worse hideous DEAD trees, lurking in the garden bed, underneath benches. I have several skeletons of really bad dead stuff thrown into the woods behind the house...
