Prunus mume - Autumn blush

G'day folks,

Here's a pic or two of my prunus mume just beginning to show itself off, come Spring before flowers open [if any] all branches will be wired skywards.

Prunus mume

Genus: Rosaceae.
Common name: Japanese apricot.

Style: Informal upright [MOYOGI].
Size: Height, 34cm [13 ½“].

Container: Ovoid, green-blue glazed, Japanese pot.
Width, 21.5cm [8 ½“], depth, 17cm [6 ¾“], height, 9.5cm [3 ¾“].

Particular characteristics:
Deciduous. It produces white, pink or red fragrant flowers appearing during the winter on bare branches which add to the uniqueness of the tree's character, followed by fruit in early summer. However, the plant was actually brought to Japan from China. Its graceful flower is favorite with the Japanese.
Japanese Flowering Apricot may be the longest-lived of the flowering fruit trees eventually forming a gnarled, picturesque, 20-foot-tall tree.

Hope ya likes....ozzerbon
