Procumbens Cascade

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I got around to wiring this procumbens cascade. It was started three years ago from rough stock and had received one wiring previously. Here is a before shot. Sorry but I was too lazy to set up backdrop.

It still needs tweaking and after it fills in, work on the positive and negative spaces. A repotting wouldn't hurt either, burying it a little deeper centering in the pot. I think the line is much better and the nice structure of the apex more visible. Any comments, critiques and virtuals are welcomed.

Best Regards,

David

Good work David,
Did you intend to take that much foliage off when you started?
I liked the the before with maybe a mild clean up. Maybe your taste is different than mine, but good work all the same.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Thomas,,,, In the pictures fom 2002, you can see it's a tangled mess of branches with no definition or balance. I wanted to define the front and refine the branch structure and this required removing quite a few branches. This in turn exposed a lot of weaker, partially shaded foliage. Procumbens are strong apical growers, so the overall foliage was thinned to match the vigor of the weakest part of the tree. The tree is really strong, so it should not take too long to get back some volume.

Best Regards,

David
