Jay YOU CAN NOT RUSH TIME Join Date: Sep-2001 Location: Jeffersonville Vt Country: USA USDA Zone: 4 AHS Heat Zone: 3 Posts: 2,154	Procumben Nana, Thoughts Here goes.... this is the Bonsai that has been with me the longest, purchased at a garden center. We have been together for 4 years. I have thought of him as a semi-cascade or cascade (I still have to bring him down some more). But wonder if a windswept is a thought. My first bonsai has been planted in the yard and still hasn't decided if it's going to live. I hacked and chopped on it so much it was pitiful sight. Yours is still growing well. Two thoughts..from one amatuer to another. You might consider cutting off the short branch...they seem to conflict with each other. Then take some heavy wire and bend the long cascade into several twists and bends to add some interest. Or, if it were mine, I would bend the longer branch more steeply down with some kinks and turns, and then cut and thin the shorter branch to about 1/2 its length and raise it up higher and almost, but not quite, over the top of the lower branch, but with some definite space between the two. I wish my virtual skills were up to it and I would try to show you what I mean... If you picture a twin trunk informal upright and then tip it over...that's what I'm getting at. Maybe somebody else can help. I'm not sure this would look good, but if it doesn't you could still cut off the shorter branch.

Wrapping the cascade branch in raffia and wire and then adding some movement to in a general downward directino would be helpful. There is a nice article by Mas Imazumi, but I can find only the text version on the web.
