Levon:
Are these grafts? If so, where are the grafts? Is #2's where there appears a reverse taper? I like 1 and it has great possibilities. Hopefully, one or more of our virtual-meisters will give ideas.

Yes, both are crafts. They are in the middle of both tree's. I bought them both for 95 euro. Number 2 has a litte bit reversed taper. When i turn the nebari a bit, it looks much better. The front was not correctly chosen.

Since no one else has given you virtuals I thought I'd give them a go. They both are very nice material to be used. Here is what I'd do with them.

I didn't change the planting angle of the first one as I liked its positions. I just filled in the branches where I thought you'd need them.

The second tree I removed the lowest right hadn side branch as I thought it was on the inside of a curved and didn't look right. I left it as a jin. I also tried to straighten up the top of the trunk to try and get rid of the bow looking trunk.

Sorry forgot to mention on the last picture that the higher branches on the right hadn side need to be brought down to fill in the gap.

So what are your ideas that you have for these trees? You must of had some plans for these trees when you first purchased them. Please share.

The first one is the same idea i had. The second one i just bought because it was cheap :-) It was a sale, where all the Pinus where gone in a few minutes. I first didn't know which to buy, so i bought them both ;-) The two problems i saw with this tree, wat the reversed taper, which can be better, when i turn the tree a bit and the two primairy branches on the same hight. Creating a jin and getting the other branch down, clears this problem. So we were on the same track ....
