To me there can be only positive things said about white pines since they are extremely rare to get here. Nice movement, just need to the branches to fill out.

I had a closer look at it and saw a couple of small issues you might have to think about. The lowest branch on the right doesn't start on the point of the curve and is very close to the inside of the curve. You've done a good job in trying to disguise that fact. The only other thing is that towards the top there seems to be a bar branch. This needs to be looked at and monitored closely so that point on the trunk doesn't swell up and cause reverse taper.

Sorry to point out a couple of the negatives just my opinions, but I'd love to have that tree in my collection.

Very nice tree Levon. Was this pine grafted onto black pine stock?

Levon,
Nice find. It bothers me a bit, though, that the bottom of the trunk is in an extreme curve but the top is straight as a broom stick (at least it's not heading straight up... ).
If you think you can bend it, I suggest you to do it.

Now, I made a virt, but couldn't think of a way to make a curve in the upper part and make the tree look good. So I had to figure out something else.
I removed the 1st branch, bent the upper part about 20 degrees and shortened the jin.
I quite like the virt even though it's mine..

Maybe a slightly different planting point.

Adam: Yes it was grafted onto black pine stock

David: You have a sharp eye and are right about the reverse taper problem. I need to monitor that.

Zeb: You're right about the top. That's the reason i made a jin of it. I'll try bending it a bit more, if possible. I like your virtual (the last one).

It's not a perfect tree, but i like it It cost me €155,-

Levon, First let it be known I am as far from a source of info on Pine as there is. This fall I obtained my first ones.

But you said it all I LIKE IT If most of us are honest with ourselves we would have to say that it is unlikely we will produce a show winning tree. Heck, most of us will not even produce a tree worthy of entrance in more than a club show. I am not degradeing anyone's work or saying there aren't real top draw artist on this list. All I'm saying is we all have to be doing this for ourselves and enjoy or work.... You seem to and you are the better for it!

Oh yea the Pine..... For my 2 cents it is coming along real nice, I like the direction of some of the verts but know little as to how long they would take to happen in real time.

That's all that matters. You like it and that is the most important thing. Even though I picked on a few errors with the tree I would still like it in my collection. I see a very nice tree in the future.

Levon, glad you liked the virt.
I think this could be achieved in very little time, actually, just by cutting off a branch and by bending the top a little. That's it.
