Nice Formal Upright Oak
I took this picture of this Burr Oak that I admire everytime I pass it in my car.
I always thought it was a nice example of a formal upright style. It's Quercus macrocarpa. I know the branches aren't horizontal but that's how it grows. It's about 50' or 60' tall.

Indeed a beautiful natural tree, I wonder how old it is!

Gary, what a fantastic old tree! Only thing is, it seems to be growing in the "PineTree Style", much berated for deciduous trees; unnatural for them, you see! Shouldn't somebody have explained this to your oak when it was a seedling so that it could have adopted a more natural and appropriate style before it was too late?!
