New Spruce
My first try with fall collection of spruce, time will tell...
I found a real hot-spot for spruce of all sizes, waiting for spring for a couple of the really nice ones since I've had good success with spruce moved in spring. But I had to try just one. This tree was growing about 20' off the ground in a total of about 300mls of soil, a pocket where 2 boulders were leaning together, no tools required, no damage to roots, easiest collection ever. mp |

I bet it will do just fine as the roots were basically undisturbed! Too bad all collecting isn't that easy!!

This will be a great cascading literati. Congrats on your sublime find.

Definitely a spruce.
I didn't know if that was an established style or not but cascading literati is a good description for sure. mp |

It looks cool! Here in Colorado there are a lot of Spruce and Firs I was up around 12,000 ft collecting logepole pines and there were Firs that had a feel like this tree. A great find! Even better with all its roots. Please keep us updated!
