Guys,
I am new to this forum and wonder what you think of this Hemlock collected a few years ago. It was in need of rescue from the constant onslaught of the snowplow.against a side of a small mtn. The trunk is only about 3'' and has recovered well. I plan on potting it up this spring and styling it pretty much as the snow has it styled it here. It did not break any branches and was put in protection and cleaned off as soon as the picture was taken. I hope to post a pic as soon as it is styled in the spring.
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi, Jonathan,

Welcome. I like what I can see of the tree; do you have any pictures that show the trunk line?

Best regards,
Old Mister

Arrow trunkline

Guys,
This is a difficult tree to phptograph but here is a shot as best as I can of the trunk. It comes out of the soil w/ exposed roots then snakes from top left to lower right.Next shot will be the tree without snow.
Regards,
Jonathan

Arrow Hemlock without snow

Here is the shot of the tree without snow. As you can see, Winter styled it beautifully.I think that when styled in a weeping fashion I should look O>K> I plan on trying to keep the root ball as large as possible as I understand that hemlock go into a stall when in a pot , My plan was to try to duplicate the ledge it came off as a pot to grow it in. Any thoughts ??
Regards,
Jonathan

Jonathan, if I might make a suggestion, find a way to to set the tree against a plain, light-colored backgound. Take a look at pictures in the show-and-tell section of this forum to get the idea. The tree looks quite interesting, but needs more contrast with the background.

Incidentally, good job with the camera! I'm yet to get my first picture with my new digital sent off in an e-mail!
