Hello Jonny, the tree looks good, the small branches are nicely forming as well. Will you be cutting that branch off that comes from the trunk on the left. Is it there for a particular reason?

I would leave the right branch ( as we view it) on until the tree is ready for a bonsai pot. I am asuming that you have in mind the same thing; using this branch to thicken the trunk at the base then either removing it or jinning it.

I thought that it might be a sacrifice branch too, but I wasn't sure because it almost looked like it was styled.

Either the left or right branch was originally grow for sacrifice to thicken the trunk. But over time, I've come to like the left side more than the right.

At some point it'll get cut.
