My yew
This thread is dedicated to Rob, aka 'October', who has been lusting after this tree for some time. It's a yew, in a 5 gal can, I picked up on a nursery crawl 7 years ago, then promptly ignored it for several years. It was practically dead, without any spring growth, three years ago. Anyway, I started working with it. In the last 2 years, I've styled it, potted it, and started carving the deadwood. It's proven to be a durable, responsive tree.

Generally, the open bench workshops are held every Wednesday night, 6-8pm, at New England Bonsai, though there are few nights where it won't be held. Check the NEBG website for the current schedule. It would be great to meet you, too...bring a few trees, as well. Dave |
