Hello Dave,
I was very happy to see this thread. I remember telling you last year to post this tree on Bonsai talk. I also remmeber you saying that you did. However, I forgot and never looked for it.

As being probably the only person to see this tree in person, I have to say it is magnificent. The tree is healthy and on its way to being a beautiful literati. The only thing left to do now is wire and light pruning. With Hinoki, as you know, wiring is one of the keys to keeping that close to the trunk foliage look. Sometimes with hinoki, I usually use the theory of why cut when you can wire.

I will add that I like Mindcrimes virt for the tree. This tree is fantastic and any bonsai enthusiast of any level, I believe, would be fortunate to have it. There is incredible potential within this tree.
